next on the project list...

Next project will be grandbaby's nursery. Yes, we're still stripping wallpaper in Grad Girl's room, but I told you I love the planning, so just thinking ahead here...

Here is the color scheme...
the colors are seafoam blues and apple greens, like the ones above and these...
and we're hoping to build a bookcase along the window wall
like this...
This is like the double window in the room. I'm looking for plans on how to go about building this so if you have any helpful ideas, please let me know.
I do have a chop saw and I know how to use it!

We won't start until Grad Girl's bedroom is done but in the meantime,
I'm planning ahead as always!

off to a good start

Okay...
I won't post walls stripped of wallpaper for the next 2 weeks, but... I was encouraged by the amount of progress we made today in just a couple of hours. This wallpaper was put on by the builder, who did not prime the drywall first...

so we are damaging the top layer a bit. My plan is to prime these areas first and then spackle. Yes... a lot of work before we even get to the painting!

Keep me motivated please! We can do this!!!

Procrastinators Anonymous

I'm officially joining the Procrastinators Party!
I started this wallpaper stripping project back in the summer and haven't worked on it in months, but... I want it done by Thanksgiving. I want the wallpaper stripped and the painting done. We already have all the new bedding, so all that's left is the labor.
I just finished another project that had dragged on for too many months and this one is up next! My problem is I love to do the planning and the design, the shopping too, but then there's the actual work.
So here it goes... accountability! Here's the before, the right now, the current state of affairs:

Okay folks... tomorrow (since it's so late tonight) I start!
See you in 2 weeks!

wedding guest

We're headed up to the northeast to a family wedding at the end of the month. Here's what I'm thinking of wearing for the event... a rich shade of purple with touches of gold as an accent.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's not too freezing cold up there, or I may have to go with option 2, a dressy suit. But... on the other hand, I may be just fine with my occasional hot flashes to keep me warm. ;-)

Fall Member Appreciation fun!

It was a perfect day for golf, 72 and sunny in Atlanta. Followed by a fun evening with wonderful food and friends. We danced and sang and had a fabulous time with our Gal Pals and their Guys!

White pumpkin cookie jar

I love it! It's from Bath and Body Works... get one while you can! Our local store only had 1 left, but you can order one online. It measures 8.5" x 9" , a good size for a cookie jar and a good value for $20.
And while you're there get this candle filled pumpkin too! Ask a sales associate for the coupon and it will be free with your cookie jar purchase.

Now I just need Grad Girl to bake us some cookies, yum!

I love white pumpkins!
