we have accumulation!

It's a winter wonderland...
so rare an occurrence here in Atlanta.
We've been getting ~an inch per hour so far,
I hope it's still here in the morning.
Where's my turtle with the frog on top?

For once the media hype happened... we actually have accumulation!

worth the wait

It's been a loooong hot summer here in the south. So to have the weather be this gorgeous for Labor Day weekend was truly a gift. The temps and humidity were low enough to turn the AC off at the Lake, open all the doors and windows up to the cool air, and enjoy! And we did! oh, and the pups did too.

Gettin' out in the fresh air

Today was beautiful, warm and sunny! A great day for a walk on the nature trail that runs behind my daughter's neighborhood. So we put on our sneakers, got the strollers out and took off for a mile+ trek. There were so many people out there enjoying our first real warm spring weather.
Baby C started off awake, but then the motion of the stroller ride...
...which he really enjoyed, note the smile ;-)
quickly put him to sleep.
Nap time for both babies!
Some of the sights along the way...
Back at the house, the babies were all rested and happy...
...and wondering when we can do it again!

Golfy McPuttPutt's Angels

I've been neglecting my golf themed posts lately, could that mean it's winter? You got it! We even had snow yesterday, here in the big city of Atlanta. But no fear, we'll be out there this week as it will be sunny, with a high of 54 degrees on Wednesday. (70 on Friday, I'm calling the pro shop tomorrow).

These photos are from Hilton Head in October, golfing with my "angel" foursome (myself, my sis-in-law Elaine, and my 2 nieces, Kate and Jess. Don't we all have a nice "finish"!

To document the day and the weather, here's a little video of our March 1st snow fall...

frozen mornings in Atlanta

It's been very cold here in the mornings, cold enough for our pond to slightly freeze on top.
It would be fun to be able to ice skate, like we used to do back on LI.

But then again, that would mean it would have to be freezing for a few weeks!
Brrr...
I for one would rather have it be warm, but the icy pond is pretty isn't it?

the long winter ahead

The weather this week is not cooperating for my sports schedule. The gals have all canceled out of golf for tomorrow. It will be a high of 46 degrees, but colder than that when we would've gone out at 11:00. Thursday, for tennis looks worse! We start at 9:15 for warm up. The temps will be hovering around 32 degrees, but the wind blowing at 20 mph is more my concern. I've asked to play ahead, tomorrow, if the other team agrees. We'll see if it works out. I'll let you know when and if my fingers thaw out and I can resume typing.
So with 2 more months of cold ahead, I've started an indoor exercise routine. I love FIT TV! You can exercise in the privacy of your own home, even in your pj's. Gilad is my fave for toning, but there's also Yoga, dance and step routines... mornings and evenings every day. Walking the neighborhood is an option too,
for those fair weather days.
Along with the activity, I'm watching what I eat, going for low calorie, low carb options. Not in an effort to lose weight, but to tone and get rid of the "muffins" as Alex has said. We'll all be in bathing suits before you know it!
