Procrastinators progress report
Okay... it's been two weeks since we signed up for our "accountability" at the Procrastinators Party at the Inspired Room, and I have to say it helped me tremendously! I always had in the back of my mind the deadline to finish what I said I would do, and... I did it! I finished stripping the wallpaper in my daughter's bedroom. It was quite the chore of scoring and spraying and scraping... tedious to say the least. It's not so glamorous yet as the walls still need to be primed and spackled and painted, but... the wallpaper is gone! Hooray!I promise to re-post photos when all the painting is done and the room is picture perfect. In the meantime I want to thank Melissa at "The Inspired Room" for giving me the kick in the a-- to get the job done!

YAY! That is a horrendous job, I agree. It is really going to look fabulous now that you got the yucky part out of the way!! Great job!! Love the pretty palette you picked!!
ReplyDeleteYeah!! You did it. I just hate taking off wall paper!. I don't think I'll ever wall paper anything again!! The plans you have for the room look very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Melissa...the palette is so soothing and pretty!
ReplyDeleteI HATE prep work! On to the fun part, right?

Good job! One day very soon I'll be removing wallpaper, too!
ReplyDeleteAbbie- we started with scoring, and wetting the walls with white vinegar and water, letting that soak in and then scraping. It worked for the most part, but we had some tough stubborn pieces. I bought a spray product M-1 from Home Depot and that was able to loosen the stubborn glue. I've tried them all and the M-1 worked the best.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you!
great job! can't wait to see the finished room. where did you find the pretty "inspiration" plate? xoxo
ReplyDeleteYOu made it through the hardest part! It is going to be beautiful! Thanks for the advice with mine. You are right - I HAVE to give myself a timeframe with the chair slipcovers.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the finished room!

ReplyDeleteCongrats the yuck is over now let the beauty begin .. can't wait to see it finished. hugs, Cherry
ReplyDeleteoooooh, love those colors you have chosen--pretty. I hate removing paper---I actually hired a guy for a hundred bucks to remove the paper in our stairwell area---It was just so high. He did it lickity split---I was amazed--he definetly knew what he was doing.
ReplyDeleteSo not fun, but so rewarding!! Can't wait to see the final results! Daughter's wedding update: bridesmaid dresses chosen - color Navy Blue. Should be lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of work getting the wallpaper off! I have 2 rooms that need it down and i just keep a procrastinating! Love your color scheme you have chosen for your room!
ReplyDeleteUgh! I remember taking down wall paper in our old house. No fun! We ended up having to mud the walls since there wasn't any paint under the wall paper. I love your color scheme! I bet it's going to turn out beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on doing the hard part. Now you get to do the fun part! The palette is really pretty. Look forward to seeing it all in place!
